In this two hour dance workshop, you will learn:
– The fundamentals of swing rhythm
– 6 count basic footwork of East Coast Swing
– A couple of solo jazz moves
– How to connect with and non-verbally communicate moves to your partner
– A little bit about the history of swing and lindy hop, the social culture, and the names of some of swing’s heroes!
– Any questions or moves that you may want to know
Our instructor, Jordan White, went to his first social dance in 2016, and has been in love ever since. As a musician, singer/songwriter and fine artist, he thought that he had enough hobbies. But swing was just too fun to set aside, and has become a mainstay in his platter of performative talents and passions that he loves to share with and teach others.
